THE PROCESS

The standard process is based on a vacuum cycle using a mixture containing 100 % EtO or 90 % EtO + 10 % C02 (used as a pressure cushion in the bottle).

For further safety, STERI CHEM recommends the addition of Nitrogen or C02 to create a higher charge of Neutral gas in the chamber and to create non flammable/ non explosive atmosphere inside the sterilization chamber during the cycle.

Other types of non flammable mixtures using more CO2 or halogen substitutes can also be considered in specific cases.
